Jessica Graves

DIRECTOR OF BANDS

Jessica Graves is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and former Director of Bands at White House Heritage High School in White House, TN.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Graves received her Masters of Music in the Instrumental Conducting/Teacher Leader program at Western Kentucky University, where she studied with Dr. Gary Schallert, served as a Graduate Assistant for the WKU School of Music and Uniform Coordinator for the Big Red Marching Band, as well as conducting and playing baritone saxophone and bass clarinet in several university ensembles.

Ms. Graves received her Bachelors of Music in Instrumental and Vocal/General Music Education at Middle Tennessee State University where she served as the Uniform Coordinator for the Blue Raider Marching Band, President of the School of Music Student Advisory Council, and Assistant Instrument Repair Technician for Concert Musical Supply in Murfreesboro, TN. During this time, she also served as a Drum Major/Woodwind Instructor at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, TN.

A graduate of Springfield High School in Springfield, TN, Ms. Graves also served as a Motor Transport Operator (88M) in the United States Army for 8.5 years, completing two combat tours in both Bahrain and Afghanistan, respectively, and earning the rank of Sergeant. During her time in the Army, Miss Graves served in many capacities, including Squad Leader, Truck Commander, and NCOIC of KAF Class 1 Operations. Her military awards include: National Defense Service Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Army Commendation and Achievement Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

Her professional affiliations include Pi Kappa Lambda: Theta Eta Chapter, NAfME, MTSBOA, ETSBOA, TBA, and TMEA.
